Page : League Leaders
Location : World Office - Stats/Awards

General Description - From this page, you may view the top 25 players in any statistic in any league from the world.

Level - Users may select the level at which to view the statistics. Levels from the dropdown menu include Majors, Triple-A, Double-A, High-A, Low-A and Rookie ball teams.

League - Users may select the league in which to view the statistics. Leagues from the dropdown menu include AL, NL or All (every team at that level).

Category - After selecting a level and type, users may select the category of league statistics to view. Categories in the dropdown menus include batting, pitching and fielding. Comprehensive, cumulative statistics are kept in each category from all games of the selected type. For instance, a player who plays ten games for a Triple-A team, but then is called up will only have his statistics added to the Triple-A totals for the games in which he played at that level. Keys indicating which stats are kept for each category are listed below.

Split - After selecting level, league and category, users may select splits from the dropdown menu. These include totals, vs lhp, vs rhp, home, away, lhb, rhb and extended. Totals are fully cumulative statistics from all games played. VS LHP and VS RHP refer to statistics for batters facing a left-handed pitchers (LHP) and right-handed pitchers (RHP) respectively. When the pitching category is selected, this refers to team's pitching performance by its LHP or RHP. When fielding is selected, this refers to the fielding performance from opposing at-bats against the team's LHP or RHP. Home and Away refer to only games played either at that team's ballpark or at his opponents' ballparks. Away games are the sum of all games played away from the team's home ballpark, regardless of opponent. These statistics are maintained for each category. LHB and RHB refer to statistics for pitchers facing a left-handed batter (LHB) and right-handed batter (RHB) respectively. When the batting category is selected, this refers to team's offense performance from its LHB or RHB. When fielding is selected, this refers to the fielding performance from opposing at-bats by LHB or RHB. Extended statistics display some of the more atypical team statistics in baseball.

POS - Users may select the league leaders at a specific position. This includes all nine fielding positions, the DH and just outfielders or just infielders. To qualify at a position, a player must meet the "qualified" requirements at that position if "yes" is selected for qualified. If "no" is selected for qualified, a player must have played at least one-third of an inning at the position.

Qualified - Users may limit a league leaders search to just those who qualify for the league lead in that category. For batting stats, players must average 3.1 plate appearances per team game or more in order to qualify. Pitchers must average one inning pitched per team game. Position players must appear in 50% of their team's innings played to qualify for fielding leaders. Once you have selected a level, league, category, split, position and qualified (yes or no), please click on the "Go" button to view league leaders. All statistics are sortable. Below is a glossary of statistics.

Statistics - All statistics are sortable. Clicking on the abbreviation for a statistic once will sort teams from best to worst in that category. For instance, clicking on AVG under batting stats will order players from highest AVG to lowest; while clicking on ERA in the pitching stats will order players from lowest ERA to highest.
